Dear friends,
My mother’s visitor visa got rejected at the Chennai consulate yesterday. This is her first application for a US visa. I am her only kid and I am in the US on H1 for the past one and half years. The visa officer asked her how many kids she had, where they were, what company I worked for etc. She told the truth and the visa was rejected under 214b – none of the supporting documents was looked at.
I am keen to bring her here, as she is alone in India. She is a housewife and has no family ties to show in India other than her 90 year old mother. She has brothers and sisters to take care of her mother. We can show property worth Rs. 60-70 lakhs in India.
I would like to apply again for her visa. None of the conditions that make her a potential immigrant (section 214b) are going to change even in the next few months or years. Please give your advice on what is the best approach to take so that she gets a visa at least in the second attempt.
Thanks in advance
